Get your ticket to the Late Night Seduction Show (part of Fashion Weekend/Friday) - $20 at i-ticket
Fashion Weekend's Friday night festivities will come to a climax with a saucy theatrical dance performance by three top dance acts: Miss La Vida, JGeek & The Geeks and the Sugar Kicks Dance Company. Catch the Late Night Seduction Show at 9.30pm in the Westpac Showroom.
Miss La Vida
From London to Las Vegas, New York to Auckland, Miss La Vida has entertained, stunned and brought audiences to their feet with her witty and engaging style of burlesque. Not one for imitation, Miss La Vida prides herself on creating acts that are intelligently conceived with a comedic twist. She is the master of bringing together the classic glamour of vintage burlesque with modern concepts.
In the three years since she started performing burlesque, Miss La Vida has made a global impression performing for the likes of Chaz Royal (UK), Lost Vagueness (UK), Goodtime Mama JoJo (UK) and the 2010 New York Burlesque Festival. The highlight of her career so far is competing in the Best Debut category at the most prestigious event in the world, the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Other achievements include her reaching the finals of the Whoopee Club's Tournament of Tease and the Ministry of Burlesque's Battle of Burlesque in conjunction with Bizarre Magazine in 2008. She also performed for Pamela Anderson and Richie Rich at 2009’s New Zealand Fashion Week. It goes without saying that Miss La Vida is a feisty firecracker of playful parody.

Sugar Kicks Dance Company
Sugar Kicks presents Salty Licks, with choreography by Amber Gabrielle Stephens; a dance that will lead you by dramatic arc and curving pathways into a tale of beauty, love and death. Motion captures the heart, beats move the mind, dynamic duos for all mankind. Sugar Kicks Dance Company will kick-start your night into a sweet and salty reprise of ancient fables in contemporary disguise.
‘Dance partnering’ will electrify the catwalk and stir the palate of insatiable appetite for fast-moving fashion. Stephens says, ‘my major focus as a choreographer is in the language of dance and how it may be conveyed through multiple streams of media. I am curious to investigate the relationship that dance has with other art forms such as film, photography, installation, light and sound. I am interested in how these different media streams effect the intensity and experience of the dance language. As a dancer I seek to constantly evolve my ability to use the body as a powerful tool in communicating contemporary stories.’

JGeek and the Geeks
JGeek and the Geeks are self-described as an ‘electro craze smashing boundaries and evolving Maori in a metropolitan music fashion-tastical context’. Led by former Disney Channel and C4 Select Live presenter, Jermaine Leef, the metro-Maori group's sound is a mix of electro-Nintendo pop groove. They're an avant-garde mix of bright colours, suit jackets, ties and high-top kicks, contrasted with neoteric Maori moko. Already they've performed for celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, taught Prime Minister John Key how to ‘geek’, and they were a leading entertainment act at last year’s New Zealand Fashion Week opening ceremony. They are booked for numerous performances in Auckland's entertainment schedule for the Rugby World Cup. JGeek says of their ethos, ‘A few generations ago, Maori travelled across the Pacific Ocean in waka. These days we struggle to drive to the corner store. Society offers an unrealistic unhealthy lifestyle for all ages and races - from the food we eat, to our sedentary lifestyles, the demanding work hours to the unrealistic expectation which society demands of you. JGeek and the Geeks are on a mission to break down these models through innovation, music, beauty, fashion, art and culture. Join us!’
